FIFA 17 Might No Longer Feature Lionel Messi on The Cover

Posted:2016/2/4 13:56:41

The winter transfer window for the big championships has now closed, with the real world featuring some impressive spending by Chinese clubs and some surprising moves away from the famous clubs of the world.

EA Sports will have to update the database of FIFA 16 to reflect all these changes as quickly as possible to make sure that the community works with the same players as their real world counterparts.

This is also a good occasion for the studio to update the stats associated with some superstars to better reflect their performance on the pitch.

EA Sports has also suggested that it might be preparing another title update for FIFA 16 to tweak some of the core mechanics and to fix some problems, but it has not offered any concrete details about possible changes and launch window.

Most resources at the company are clearly focused on the creation of the next installment in the simulation series, which will arrive in the fall for the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4 and the PC.

Rumors are saying that for the first time in years Lionel Messi might no longer be the global cover athlete because of a dispute over the contract between him and EA Sports and that a search is currently underway to find a suitable replacement, which might come from the Premier League.
